Summer Program

Program Summary

Summer Baseball program is our competitive program. Teams are selected via a try-out process and a team is selected to represent Carlingwood Frank Ryan in the Summer Interlock Program where CFR teams play competitive teams from other leagues within Ottawa. The CFR Summer Team also participates in the Little League Playdown process where available. This team is called our CFR “A” summer team.

In some cases, where player interest is sufficient, CFR may field a second team in the Summer Interlock Program. In these cases, this team is called our CFR “B” summer team. While this team plays in Summer Interlock Program, the team is not eligible to participate in the Little League Playdown process.

Expectations

Participation in Summer Baseball requires a greater commitment level from both players and parents. While teams plays approximately the same number of games as during the Spring, there are typically a greater number of practices, more tournament participation, and a commitment to play in the Little League Playdown process. You Summer coach will provide more details to you at Summer Evaluations.

Summer Baseball: When

Summer baseball commences with evaluations in late June and team selection by July 1. The Summer Interlock season starts in early July and finishes by the end of August with the Interlock Playoffs. Registration for summer baseball occurs in late June.
