Great coaching leads to the full development of every player. CFR is committed to providing as many resources to coaches and players to help both improve their skills and capabilities. Clinics are key to this strategy. As such, CFR provides both coaching and player development clinics throughout the Spring season.
Each year CFR will run spring clinics for our CFR Spring players. Please check our Calendar of Events for exact dates, times, and locations of these clinics. These clinics are open to all players from Rookie to Junior. Every player is encouraged to attend. Also, other local league offer clinics open to CFR players. These clinics are typically “for fee” events. For 2012, Pinecrest Little League and East Nepean Little League are hosting Toronto Blue Jays Instructional Camps. You can read more about these camps and registration details by visiting the Toronto Blue Jays website.
Coach training is an integral part of the CFR program. To help ‘teach the teachers’, CFR offers opportunities for coaches to improve their skills via coaching clinics. There are two events available. They are:
Teaching For Tomorrow
CFR is pleased to partner with Little League Canada to bring the “Teaching for Tomorrow” coaching clinic back to Ottawa for the second year in a row. This program, sanctioned by Little League Canada, is a valuable resource to all coaches regardless of level. Coach Herback is the “national” coach for Little League Canada and has built his curriculum specifically for Little League Canada. Coaches should bring materials to take notes, their glove, and wear clothing appropriate for participating in some light sample drills.
