Message from the
President: CFR in 2012
|
|
|
For most people, the coming of winter means hockey
season. For a small number of us, winter also means preparing for next year’s
baseball season. This newsletter is our effort to keep you informed about
activities already underway to get CFR Little League ready our 2012 spring
and summer seasons. Last year we began a five year plan to rebuild CFR
and put our league on solid ground into the future. Last year saw CFR
increase enrollment by 10%, introduce coaching clinics, and run several
players clinics throughout the season. We also made a concerted effort to
staff our convenor roles in order to streamline communication to coaches and
parents. This is year two of that plan. Just like last year, we will place
a great deal of emphasis on player development and coaching as well as
communication programs. What makes the 2012 season even more exciting for
CFR is that, in addition to continuing with our plan, CFR has won the
privilege of hosting the 2012 Ontario Little League Championships. This is a
significant event for CFR and we have already started preparing for the
event. While provincials are exciting, our goal this is to
make the 2012 spring and summer seasons as positive, productive, and
enjoyable as possible for all CFR players and parents. Welcome to our 2012 season.
It promises to be a memorable one. Pete Loyen President CFR Little League |

Volunteers Needed
|
|
|
|
While we have a number of key executive roles
filled, our league is run by people like you – people who want to make a
difference and help kids in our community play baseball. We are constantly
looking for volunteers to coach, umpire, join our executive, or help run
tournaments. The most critical roles are the Convenor positions for our
spring season. If you are interested in joining our team, please contact cfr_vpadmin@cfrllott.ca. We will also spend the coming months
reaching out to people in order to fill remaining key leadership roles. |
