Dear CFR
Little League Participant,
The Annual
General Meeting for Carlngwood Frank Ryan Little League is
scheduled for 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 30 at the J. Alf
Dulude Arena at 941
Clyde Avenue.
This
meeting provides an opportunity to review events and achievements of
the past baseball season.
More
importantly, it is the launch of the next season and an opportunity
for you to influence the direction, plans and policies.
Key
executive members, including President Mark Bradley, are stepping
aside this year. This will necessitate that others step up to carry
on.
There is
movement to try and develop a longer term plan which would help guide
decision making. Some examples of the ideas – within 5 years:
- Have 2 teams win districts and compete at provincial
championships
- Increase enrolment to 500 players
- Have information system in place to collect, track, and
transition key information and programs
- Build communication program to push key information to
parents/players
As a
stepping stone to the longer term goals, in 2011 focus on:
- Coaching and Player Development
- Financial Governance
- Increasing Communication at all levels
- Key Information Collection
- Increasing enrolment to greater than 300 players
CFR is
hosting the Ontario Provincial Major Division Play-downs in July
2012. This event will require substantial planning, funding and a
refit of the Major Diamond at Britannia Park.
All must be in place end 2011.
To
accomplish all of this we will need numerous enthusiastic folks to
fill and back up the Executive Positions. Due to the departures
expected and interest of current Executive members in more senior
roles there will be many vacancies.
The
Executive Consists of a Core Group with formal voting authority
(according to the Constitution):
- President
- VP, Administration/Finance
- VP, Baseball Operations
- Umpire-in-Chief
- Director, Player Dev & Coaching
- Registrar
- Treasurer
- Secretary
And a
“Support Executive”, which includes:
- Safety Officer
- Director of Media Relations
- Director, Sponsorship
- Convenors (Tee-Ball, Rookie, Minor, Major, Junior and,
Senior)
- Equipment Manager
- Uniform Manager
- Field Manager
- Information Officer
- Webmaster
- Special Events Coordinator
- Youth Representative
